Fall Soccer- October 2009

Brennen had another fun season of soccer.  He is truly learning alot including how to play goalie.  Once the kids hit U-8 in soccer they get to play on a bigger field and with goalies!  Since Brennen has been more of a peripheral player and not so keen on contact, I never thought he would want to play goalie, but I was very wrong.  Brennen actually decided to keep playing soccer this year just so he could try out goalie.  He seemed to really like it, but as a parent it is actually quite stressful to watch!  I am very glad he is enjoying soccer again.
Watching the game, waiting to sub.

My son playing goalie.  I am really glad that we have good defenders so that the ball didn't get to his end very often. :)
Go Brennen go!

Globe Trot- October 2009

Every year Brennen's school holds a Globe Trot (fun run) to raise money for the school.  This is the big fundraiser for the year and the kids do great!  Last year they made enough money to buy swings for their playground.  Brennen's goal this year was to beat his run of 26 laps last year.  He tried and tried, but fell short by just a few laps.  I love watching him run every year because he is so determined to do his best.

Getting some last minute race instructions.

Brennen showing me how many rubber bands (how many laps) he has already.

Everett Children's Museum- October 2009

If you have never been to the Everett Children's Museum then you better carve out some time.  This is a favorite of our kids and well worth the hour it takes to get there.  What a fantastic place to explore and learn.  I love that some adult brains created this wonderful kids zone for our children to enjoy.

Playing some instruments on the roof top play area.

This is one of the best playgrounds the kids have been to and it is on top of the building!

The water room was a favorite of the boys.

Rylan'a First Fieldtrip! October 2009

Rylan's class had the chance to visit the local fire station.  The kids learned a ton while they were there and even got to see a paramedic unit leave on a call.  I think they were a little nervous about the fact that it was a real life emergency. :)

Rylan had the opportunity to check out the inside of the ladder truck.
I had a chance to join the fun when one of the crew let me try on his gear.  I think some of the kids were afraid of me.

The kids were sooooo cute and a little in awe of the fire fighters.

My kids being cute- October 2009

My kiddos were all sitting on the stairs together looking pretty sharp so I grabbed the camera.  Of course, a certain little urchin wouldn't sit still long enough to be in a picture with her brothers.  *Sigh*  Someday I will get a nice picture with all three of them together.  In the meantime, aren't they darn cute?

I don't have a category for this picture, but it is just too cute not to share with the world.  Enjoy!

Rylan's first day of preschool- September 2009

Rylan turned four this summer which means preschool in the fall!  I was kind of worried about his first day as he has been my child who likes to stick close to home, but he surprised me and did great.  He was excited and ready to be big like his brother.  Rylan is attending Bright Discoveries preschool just like Brennen did and is lucky enough to have the same great teachers.

Looking sharp and ready for the day.
Waiting for the sign to turn green so we can go in.

Saying good-bye for the morning and off to circle time.

Ocean Shores- September 2009

We had a great trip to Ocean Shores, WA.  This was the first time to the ocean that the kids really remember.  Brennen and Rylan loved running up and down the beach and Emery loved trying to run after her brothers. We also spent time with many cousins as this was a family reunion weekend.  My family had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back to the ocean.

Digging for treasure.
"The sand feels good in my toes!"
"Can't catch me!"

Off to the beach.

Go-carting was a favorite and our whole extended family got out there.  It was a blast!
We learned that eating the sand isn't so good afterall.
The boys had such a great time together.
The great explorer has spotted the beach.
Freedom!
The hike to the beach.

I love this picture of Brennen enjoying the waves.
Brennen's cousin painted his fierce face. :)
