Time flies when you are sleep-deprived

Can you believe that it has been a month already? How did that happen? Did I sleep through it? Nope, definitely didn't sleep through it as I am awake waaaaayyyy more than I am asleep. Our baby girl is a month old and I can hardly believe it. She has brought so much joy to us. She smiles at her brothers, snuggles on my chest and smells wonderful! I just can't imagine life without our newest little person. The lack of sleep is soooo worth it.Hanging on Mom and Dad's bed.

Girl time!

Emery likes her play mat.

The shirt says it all.

Brennen

Brennen LOVES to use our camera. Today he took this picture of himself. I thought it was hilarious. I also thought he did a pretty good job. Guess what he is getting from Mom and Dad for his birthday?

Bubbles!

We pulled out the bubble blower today and the boys were thrilled! Brennen ran around the yard collecting bubbles until he had a huge handful. This picture shows him holding about half the bubbles he had collected. His mom was a little slow with the camera today. :)

T-Ball!

Batter up!

Brennen the base runner.
1st baseman Brennen. He is actually pretty good at this position! :)

Another Spring, another season of T-ball. Brennen is sooooo enthusiastic about every sport that we are hesitant to say no. So here we are right on the heels of soccer and just prior to golf. At some point, we are hoping he will decided on one or two sports, but will encourage him at every thing he plays. It is alot of fun to watch and to think he is only 6 (well, almost!). :)

Grandpa visits!

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Grandpa this weekend. The boys had a blast and Emery bonded with her namesake (Danielle comes from Grandpa Dan). It was such beautiful weather which was such a relief as I was worried my Dad would lose his Arizona tan. We didn't want it to wash off in the rain! :) Thanks Dad, for the great dinner and wonderful visit. We miss you already! Emery checking out Grandpa.

Random Rylan

Just two random pictures of Rylan for your enjoyment! :) Rylan covering his ears as Daddy uses a power tool.

"See my band-aid!"

The Lawn Boys

Rylan and Daddy mowed the lawn today. It was pretty cute! Rylan followed with his bubble mower and mimicked every move that Daddy made. If Phil backed up and went over a spot again, Rylan did the same. Unfortunately, I don't have any cute pictures, but I do have a cute video of it! When they were all done, I thanked Rylan for mowing the entire back lawn for me. Phil then told Rylan that he could use Daddy's big mower when he got bigger. Rylan replied, "You can use my little mower when you get littler, Daddy!" Too cute!

Two Weeks Old!

Little Sweet Pea.

Loves and kisses from a big brother.

One tired mom and one sweet baby girl.

Big brother Rylan made sure that Emery had company while she napped.

I caught the tale end of a smile for the camera.

I love this sweet face!

Time sure is flying! Emery is now two weeks and two days old. All in all, it has been a pretty good transition for us. Rylan is struggling with less attention, being almost 3, and some major allergies. It all seems to add up to a very whiny kid, but I remember much of the same from Brennen at this age. Brennen is doing great! He is a wonderful big brother and an awesome kid! Emery is a great baby and just takes all the noise, arguing, and rambunctious play in stride. She is really starting to smile when she sees Brennen which is really sweet. After this week, I will be on my own so we will see just how good the transition really is. :)

What a difference a week makes!

Last Wednesday Emery went in to the doctor for a weight check. She was down to 7 lbs. 2 ounces from her birth weight of 7lbs. 12 ounces. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but I had Mastitis and Emery was feeding really sporadically. She seems to be more of a power eater compared to her brothers so she is done much quicker than the boys ever were. This has taken some getting used to as I always worry about whether she has had enough to eat. She has given us a couple of 4 or 5 hour stretches at night too! So we went to the Doctor on Friday for her two week check (yes, she will be 2 weeks old already on Monday!) . Emery weighed in at 8 lbs. 5 ounces. I guess I don't need to worry if she is getting enough since she put on over a pound in a week. The doctor said they are happy when most baby's are back to birth weight and then he referred to her as a "chow hound." I guess I will stop worrying and enjoy the 6 hour stretch she gave me the other night. :)

Kids these days...

You just can't pull one over on them anymore. Yesterday, Brennen was bored and so we kicked him and Rylan outside for some exercise. They were digging for treasure and occupying themselves for a while until the boredom set it again. Phil told Brennen that he could pull weeds which Brennen was pretty into. Too make it more interesting, Phil suggested he would pay Brennen a penny a weed. My son's reply? "How about a quarter for each weed I pull, Dad?" They compromised on a nickel. :)

Adjusting well

Isn't it amazing how you can have a brand new baby and it just seems that they have been part of your family forever? I, of course, am in awe of this perfect little creature who just spent the last 41 weeks growing inside me. She is a little bundle of joy who fits just perfectly into our family. The boys love her (sometimes a little too much) and are already trying to take care of her. Rylan is a little on the whiny side, but that is to be expected. Brennen is loving the fact that he is a big, big brother. Both boys love to say hi to Emery and talk to her. Rylan and Brennen are also into reading books to their little sister. I just can't imagine life without my three beautiful kids! Proud big brothers.

Sweet baby girl.

A yawn.
