4th of July

The Meaghers spent the day with us to celebrate the 4th and Rylan's birthday. It was a fun-filled day full of smiles and fireworks.

The quadruplets.

You have to have lightsabers to battle the smoke bombs.

What? They are all sitting!?
Cutie pie.

Time to open gifts for the family birthday.

Emery checking out her first fireworks.

The grand finale.

Rylan is 3!

I can't believe that Rylan is 3! He celebrated with another "Georgie" party (Curious George) and invited four of his friends along with their families. I am so glad we kept the number low as the weather was bad and we were inside with 12 kids! Nevertheless, Rylan had a great time and enjoyed all his company.

Rylan's new "Wall-E" beach towel.

I got my flag in there for my Independence Day baby, but added George to it. :)

"Mmmmm! This cake is yummy!"

Quick update

Emery had her two month checkup. She is a happy, healthy, growing baby girl. She now weighs 11 lbs. 2.5 ounces and is 23 1/4" long. She is so little compared to the boys!

Brennen also had his 6 year-old checkup. He is a happy, healthy, well-adjusted 6 year old. He is now 46" tall and 46 pounds. His asthma and allergies are great, his vision is great, and his hearing is really good, except for a little off in his left ear. Something that should resolve itself, but we will watch it just in case. Brennen is tuned-up and ready for the first grade in the fall. Yikes!

Smiley Girl!

Ok, I realize that these pictures are all pretty similar, but if you look really close her smile is a little different in each one! :) Seriously though, Emery smiles all the time, but I had yet to really capture it on camera. I think I am always mesmerized by my "conversations" with her so I never grab the camera. Today I was successful so now you have to look at them all. Ha!

Here she is cooing at me. She has such a sweet little voice.

June Moments

Rylan testing Brennen's Transformer mask from Grandpa.

Modeling the Jedi costumes that Bugga made. Thank you Bugga!

Brennen's last day of Kindergarten. Sniffle!

Brennen turns 6!

Brennen is now 6 years old and going into the first grade. Yikes! We kicked off his birthday celebration with a family dinner at Red Robin's. Brennen loves to go out to eat so this was a fun treat. We came home, opened presents, and had some yummy cake that Rylan helped me make. Brennen was thrilled that he did get his very own camera!

On Saturday, we had Brennen's friend party. He chose a Star Wars theme and invited ten friends. We were thrilled to see that all ten friends could come! I was thankful that I limited it to 10, boys only, and no siblings. This was a must since my son is such a social butterfly. The boys seemed to have a blast. We started them off with some Jedi training which meant running through an obstacle course. We also played a "Save Princess Leia" game, an asteroid hunt, and a moon rock walk. There were some big smiles all around so I think it was a success!

I wish I had...

Scene: I am making my bed when Rylan walks in.

R: "Hi Mom!"
Me: "Hi buddy!"
R: "Can you get my cars down for me?"
Me: "Daddy's already downstairs, can you go ask him?"
R: "No, I want yoooouuuuuu to."
Me: "I can't do it right now, I am not downstairs."
R: With a grin on his face, "I wish I had two mommies!"
Me: Clutching chest as stabbing pains are felt in my heart.

Beware of Puma-Squirrels!

I just love my almost 6 year old (8 days until his birthday!). When I drove Brennen to school the other day we spotted a black squirrel next to the building. As it was running off, I excitedly pointed out the squirrel and the fact that it was black instead of gray (like we usually see). My son's response? "Is that a Puma, Mom?" My brain is trying to imagine what his brain is thinking. I respond while stifling a laugh, "no son, it's just a squirrel." Moral of the story? Smile, beware of Puma-Squirrels, and have a great day!
