Baby "Thumper" is growing every day. I can't believe that we only have about 5 weeks left! We just had a doctor appointment on Thursday and everybody looks great. Baby is about 5 1/2 pounds, growing every day, and seems to be happy staying head down (woo hoo!). We did talk to the doctor about delivery and what to expect since Rylan was so fast. I have been a little nervous since Phil is in Burlington. The doctor did confirm to me that I should be nervous because baby #3 usually follows in the way of baby #2. He said it is definitely good to have an emergency plan so we don't have a baby on the way to the hospital instead of at the hospital. That being said, thank you to everyone who has made it known to me that I can call you all in an emergency. It definitely helps ease my mind. Of course, we will probably be just fine since Rylan was 12 days late and my mom will be here by then. Also, quite frankly, I am afraid of any bodily harm Mom may cause me if I have this baby before she gets here. :) With all that being said, I have kicked in to high gear on baby preparations. The room is ready (Rylan is completely moved out) and I have a small list of things to get done such as packing. I am tired, but starting to feel prepared and that puts my mind at ease. Have a great day everyone!

Since I live in Ohio, how far away is Burlington from where you live? Regardless, if you're worried about the distance that's never good! ACK! I'm glad your dr. said that baby #3 usually follows suit of baby #2. I was in labor for 12 hours with Zeke & only about 5 1/2 with Micah start to finish...I was worried that this one would take the 50% route & end up being here in about 2 1/2! Here's hoping your third baby doesn't come 12 days late this time!!!
Hey Sara,
Phil's work in Burlington is only about 25 minutes away, but Rylan was 4 hours start to finish. I was only at the hospital an hour when he was born and that was because the nurse had me wait for the doctor (1:13 am the doc wasn't there and ready!). If this one does the 50% thing then it could get scary fast. Anyway, for all my worrying I will probably end up having this one early and it will be like a 24 hour labor. Lol!
Yeah...my nurse kept telling me not to push b/c the dr. wasn't there yet, either. THAT did NOT go over well with me. Not that I was having back labor, was dilated to 10, was having a natural birth & had been screaming for 15 minutes that I HAD TO PUSH had anything to do with it. The dr. finally walked in & said, "so let the lady push!" and he was born in 3 pushes. It was a good time. :) We're mommies...we worry...it's what we do. You'll do amazing, I'm sure!!
